West Texas Mean Street

These rules are in effect for the 2012 season. We do reserve the right to adjust the rules as needed to insure parity in this class.

This class will be 1/8 mile heads up class using a .400 pro tree
All cars entered must run 7.50 or faster
It will be a 8 car qualified field, will extend to 16 if needed
Each car is allowed 2 qualifying passes
Each car will be responsible for a membership fee of $100 for the year
All cars will be weighed after each pass
All cars MUST BE driven to the scales, staging lanes and back to the pits after each pass
If a car wins 3 races in a single season they will undergo a review for a possible weight penalty
All cars can and will be teched at any time to insure everyone is abiding by the rules
$150 fee to protest a car ($50 tech fee, if the car is found illegal the protester gets the other $100 back)
We will use the safety rules that are set forth by the host race track (NHRA/IHRA), these rules will be enforced.. Safety is our #1 priority

Chassis

Stock front and rear frame rails (must be in stock location)
Aftermarket control arms and bushings ok as long as they bolt in stock locations.
Rack and Pinion allowed
All replacement parts must be in stock location
No replacement part may be permanently attached to the chassis
K-Members allowed (late model mustangs, Camaro's and Firebirds)
K-Members must feature stock attachment locations
Coil over shocks allowed.
Aftermarket bolt in sub frames not allowed.
Sub-frame connectors okay.
Cross Members may be notched for oil pan clearance
Bolt on Traction devices only
Suspension components must be attached to frame rails
Factory or Aftermarket type anti-sway bars allowed
NO Wheelie bars.
MOTOR PLATES allowed but engine must stay in factory location
Rear shocks may be moved for tire clearance
No traction compound spraying devices allowed.
Torque arms are limited to OEM equipped cars only.
Aftermarket strut is allowed but must follow the following guidelines:
Full on race strut prohibited (i.e. Lamb or equivalent type)
Bolt in stock location with the exception of aftermarket K-Member
Strut must be comparable to QA1 or Strange style (adjustable)
Struts that changes caster and camber are prohibited
AWD & FWD Allowed.
Stock style or ladder bar suspension only, aftermarket 4 links are prohibited
Ladder bars allowed with weight penalty (see weights)

Body

Stock Firewall must be in stock location
Unaltered floor pan. May be altered for through the floor sub-frame connectors, etc.
NO body alterations (must have front and rear bumpers)
Headlights and Taillights must be in working order
Fiberglass Limited to Hood, deck-lid and bumpers only
Aftermarket wings allowed, MAX 15 inch from the leading edge
Forward mounted hood scoops prohibited unless OEM equipped
Mini tubs allowed

Interior

Two Front Seats, passenger seat must be bolted in
Driver's seat must be mounted in front of the door jamb
Full Interior (carpet, stock type dash and door panels)
No Lexan for cars (must have factory glass and windows)
Lexan for trucks is limited to the rear window only
Back seat not required, seat area must be carpeted.

Tires

Any 275/60/15 drag radial or any 28x11.5x15 DOT approved bias ply

Power Adders

Only one type of power adder allowed

Nitrous:
Only one pressurized n2o bottle in car. 15 lb. Maximum.
N2O limited to a Plate type system with one n2o solenoid, one fuel solenoid and one purge solenoid. Plate can only have one nitrous entry point and one fuel entry point.
Single wet or dry fogger nozzle - allowed only one fuel and one nitrous entry point for the single fogger, or SINGLE dry nozzle with ONE nitrous entry point.
Purge has to exit engine compartment.
Push systems are prohibited.
Maximum nitrous supply line is a single #6 line.
**For any car running multiple stages, you are allowed to run a single stage (plate only, per the rules) as long as the other stage(s) are capped off at the solenoids.

Forced Induction:
Single turbocharger limited to 80 mm maximum. Measurement will be 1/16 inch from the compressor wheel.
Twin turbocharger limited to twin 61 mm maximum. Measurement will be 1/16 inch from the compressor wheel.
Max compressor wheel size is 88mm for singles (reduced to 80mm) and 67mm for twins (reduced to 61mm)

Turbocharger size will be verified by measuring the housing bore at the leading edge of the impeller wheel and must maintain the contour of the compressor housing. The maximum diameter of the housing bore at the leading edge of the wheel may not exceed 2 mm more than the maximum allowable turbocharger size permitted and may not have any additional holes that allow air to enter the turbocharger

NO "thumper" turbos allowed
NO "cut down" compressor wheels allowed
Maximum F1R supercharger or equivalent

Cog or gear driven superchargers are permitted, must meet all factory inlet, outlet, and internal housing dimensions.

NO Roots type superchargers allowed
Air to Air intercoolers are the only form of intercooling allowed.
All Cars must run Gasoline or E85, Methanol is prohibited
Progressive nitrous controllers and data recorders allowed.

Engines

Sheet metal intakes limited to 4 cylinder engines only
Single Carburetor only, maximum 4150 series
Dry Sumps not allowed
EFI MAX 92 MM throttle body limit on nitrous and turbo/supercharged cars.
Horizontal throttle body limited to 4150 style.


Transmission
Any OEM style 2, 3, 4 speed auto allowed
OEM style manual transmission (H pattern with clutch) allowed
No racing style transmissions allowed (Bruno, Lenco...etc.)

Exhaust

Mufflers required on all but turbo entries
Exhaust is allowed to exit anywhere out of the fenders as long as staging is not affected
NO insert or collector type mufflers

Weight Breaks

Naturally Aspirated cars can deduct 200# from their base weight
Ladder bars add 50lbs to their base weight

**SMALL BLOCK**

Base weight - 3000 lbs
Small block turbo/supercharger:
Up to 80mm/twin 61's/F1C - 3200 lbs
88mm/twin 67's with reducers/F1R - 3300 lbs

Small block nitrous:
Up to 440" - 3000lbs
440"+ - add 100 lbs.
Conventional valve angle heads only

LSX cars:
Base weights same as small block
Minimum valve angle *15*
LS7 style heads, factory valve angle only - add 200lbs
C5R heads Prohibited

**BIG BLOCK**

*Nitrous:
*3300# base weight.
*up to 530" - 3300#
*530"-575" - 3400#

*Forced induction:
*limited to 468" - 3400#

*No 18* Oval port BBC heads
*No CFE 385's or larger
*575 cubic inch MAXIMUM!

** 4 Cylinder**
*2000# base weight
Sheet Metal intakes allowed

** 6 Cylinder**
*2600# base weight

Cylinder heads

Billet or fabricated heads prohibited
Internal port areas of cylinder heads may be welded or epoxied for repairing, but heads must maintain standard "as produced" valve layout design, valve cant, and valve spacing. (no substituting canted valve for inline head, etc.).
Cylinder heads must retain OEM style port/valve configurations and must be a massed produced type head readily available.
One-off or custom made cylinder heads prohibited.
Heads must maintain conventional/stock style valve angles.
No Big Chief, Big Chief style, 18* BBC, SB2 or Yates style heads allowed.
No 18* heads allowed except for LS1 stock valve angle heads.
Heads must have manufacturer’s markings visible.
